They also have a wonderful pool, large by hotel standards, with floor to ceiling windows that look out over the ocean. There is a small stream you have to cross to get to the sand, they usually have a makeshift bridge across this. This is truly the closest hotel to the beach, a wooden boardwalk takes you right to the sand. I had a terrible headache from being in the room. Don't get a smoking room if you're not a smoker. The non smoking rooms and halls on upper floors don't have that odor. Because of the attached casino and the fact that this is located on an indian reservation where smoking indoors is legal, the lobby smells of cigarette smoke. Be prepared for long lines waiting to check in and front desk personnel that seem rushed and hurried. A friendly speedy check in has never been their strong point. For the past seven years, we've stayed at the Quinault. This is my 10th year coming to Ocean Shores for spring break.
